NRMCA Plant Managers Certification Course
The concrete plant manager's position is the heart of the operations aspect of a ready mixed concrete production facility. Every plant has one. Duties differ only slightly from plant to plant. It is of utmost importance that a plant manager understands the essential aspects of Product Knowledge, Plant Safety, Environmental Regulations, Plant Operations and Business Principals. The certification exam is designed to recognize those who have the specific skill levels in these areas. The certification can be found in many jobs requirement specifications by the Army Corps of Engineers' projects as well as state and local DOTs. They require personnel to be certified in specific knowledge areas:
- Successfully pass Product Knowledge and Operations exams:
- Certified as Ready Mixed Concrete Plant Manager
- Successfully pass Product Knowledge exams:
- Certified as Plant Operator
This course is the only that exists which is specifically designed for plant managers.
The course is three days of instruction plus four hours of exam time.
Course instruction covers and tests on five individual modules:
- Plant Safety
- Operations
- Production Knowledge
- Environmental
- Business Concepts
